European activities

Ever since its foundation the work of the European Association for Vocational and Social Education (EBG e.V.) has been internationally oriented.

In the first ten years, the acitivities were mainly focussed on the development of an extensive network of transnational partners from Western, Central and Eastern Europe.

Mutual support was built up in the transfer of well-tried curricula, exchange of experience and didactical methodological consultancy.

In Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia, the EBG founded common training centres together with its partners.

The EBG participated amongst others in the following Community Initiatives of the European Commission:

ADAPT
Employment
RESIDER II
RECHAR II
LEADER II

Young people, teachers and trainers have the possibility to obtain further qualification in other European institutions, to increase their knowledge of languages and to become familiar with the working and living conditions of people in the European states.

During the period from 1995 until 2000 the EBG took part in numerous exchange and placement projects for the vocational training and further education for Europe. The following link will show an overview of the projects in the framework of the EU-Programmes “Leonardo da Vinci” and “Socrates”

Future

One of the main objectives for the next ten years is the development of a “European Ecological Training Centre” in the Region Lower Tatra (Slovakia).

In a relatively intact environment teachers and learners can acquire new knowledge and competencies.

Didactical methodological concepts for the subject Environmental Knowledge as well as their integration in vocational training programmes are in development.
